Skyscape

Why does it seem that the sky is so much more beautiful when we are on vacation? Maybe if we looked up more often when at home we would be pleasantly surprised...

Sun dog (had to look this up to make sure). Cool - huh? It's formed by the refraction of sunlight by small ice crystals making up the clouds. We saw two over the weekend.

I spent the afternoon at the zoo with my three favorite guys - now that's my kind of birthday!

This photo makes me sad...

Mount Olympus

The boys and I spent the afternoon exploring around the trailhead of Mt. Olympus. I have always been enamored with this mountain. I stare at it every time I pass the north face from the freeway (or just about anywhere in the valley for that matter) and the south side from my backyard. I can't imagine not getting butterflies in my belly when I see it - I hope that never happens... The next time I post photos of this beaut it will be from the summit!
